Hopper box for Sluice System 10cm
What is a hopper box?
A hopper box is a box that converts a high flow into a low speed flow. An important further function is the mixing of the material. Often, water is added to a hopper box or the material is to be opened (because it is, for example, loamy). All this is done by a Hopperbox. A serious operation of the system without Hopper Box makes no sense at our discretion.
Functional Description Hopper Box
The hopper box has three feed options as well as a drain. These "interfaces" are:
- 1 "(25mm) hose spout in the back of the Hopper Box: A volume pump is connected here (exception: using a funnel as a water supply, see Beispiel hier). We recommend pumps which are real (not on the pack) about 2,500-5000 liters per hour, of course Also material is introduced, but this version does not provide for our wash-out system.
- 8mm hose nozzle on the side of the Hopper Box: This is where the output of a jet pump is applied (if present) and thus transports material into the Hopper Box
- Enforcement at the top of the Hopperbox: This hatch is approx. 6 cm x 8xm in size and serves as an opening when hand-held (eg with a funnel or spoon) or with an alternative feed Own construction) material should be thrown into the hopper box.
- The process in the bottom of the Hopper Box: This is where everything comes out. The water and the material runs over various baffle plates and is thus optimally braked and soothed. The rest is done by the water valve of the headboard.
The Hopper Box is placed in the head part on the centering plates (these are therefore 2mm thick) and fixed with the knurled nuts in the provided lock. The hopper box is thus firmly connected to the head part and thus to the entire channel.
The picture above shows the headboard with Hopper Box mounted.
The picture above shows a further possibility of using the hopper box: If the sluice body is taken to the stream, the use of a funnel can optimally adjust the amount of water in the gutter. The volume pump can possibly be dispensed with completely, the Hopper Box now serves as a mixing plant, e.g. For a bucket from which material which has been preshaped by a jet pump can be introduced continuously into the channel.
