Rack for Sluice System 10cm

The rack gives the entire Sluice System the right support and is the "backbone" of the system. A very important function is the precise adjustment of the sluice body and thus the exact "strength" of the wash-out flow. Without an accurate adjustability of the sluice body, the system will not work satisfactorily. . Of course anyone can build their own device, but I give here already the tip, especially well to the adjustment possibilities to take care! It can also be attached to the feeder rack and anyone who wants to use the sedimentator needs the rack in any case.

In the picture above all important functions are summarized again:

  • Stable hold: The rack is very sturdy and can carry both the system itself and the water and the material. Note that when the sedimenter is used, up to 20 liters of water can be loaded on the rack!
  • Accurate adjustability: The rack has a height adjustment with hand crank on the basis of a M10 threaded rod made of stainless steel. The threaded bush is made of brass and allows adjustments in the tenth of a millimeter range! The bearings of the threaded rod are made of polyamide, which has been filled with glass fibers and is therefore very resistant to abrasion.
  • With and without sedimentator: The sedimentator and the rack are precisely coordinated. If you work without a sedimentator (and simply drain the sluice into a bucket), you can also work very well with the rack. So retrofitting the sedimentator is very easy.
  • Double-trough: The rack is not designed for the use of two sluices, but can be used for this purpose: if you want to use two sluices one after the other, for the extended channel end, the setting of the slope is still ensured.

slope of the sluice

Which slope must be set? Unfortunately this depends on a lot of factors, which I will briefly evaluate in the following:

  • Water quantity: The water quantity itself is probably of secondary importance, but can play a role together with the "inner life" of the sluice: some inner life only works or only to a certain amount of water or water speed!
  • Inner life: The biggest factor is the inner life of the sluice. Since there are endless possibilities, I would like to mention only two examples. The Goldblitz Goldfisch can produce good washing results with few water if the gold is not Is too small (Note: we are talking about "washing out", not of "restraint"!). If the Goldfisch gets very fast water, small tufts could already be partially washed out again. The Goldblitz wash-out mat , on the other hand, tolerates very fast water when washing out very well. The quota with which the wash-out mud flitter rinses depends very much on the chance (More precisely, from the current position of the flitter in the flow). If the wash-out mat is very fast, the restraining force may even be increased by strong water.
  • Washing process: I do it like this (I can do it differently!): I divide the washout into two phases, first the "filling the washout" and then the "rinse". When filling, I set the channel so flat that they just do not shed (Well, the one who has a feeder with a jet pump!). If the material has run through the gutter, I steadily steer it step by step until I reach the desired washout quality. The "flushed" tinsel I get a second passage (see pictures below!).

There is a assembly manual for the wash-out system 10cm as PDF, size approx. 5MB, german (artwork).
